Charlet turned in her bed, shifting under the covers and pulled half of her pillow over her ear. Her alarm clock was ringing; she forgot to set it off, of course, again. She moaned and stared off into space for a few minutes, then turned over and weakly reached her hand over to push the off button, however all she accomplished was knocking it over. She sighed deeply and got up, pushing her silky red comforter to the side, stepping onto her carpet. She flopped over and picked up her clock, then stood up and set it onto her dresser. "How dare you interrupt me.." She muttered to herself, as she buttoned up the top of her pajamas and slipped on her grizzly bear slippers. She wasn't exactly going anywhere today; so she didn't see the point in dressing nicely at all. She turned the knob on her door and stepped out into the hallway. It was twelve in the afternoon, a little late for her to be waking up, but she was particularly lazy due to it being so cold outside and the fact that it is in the middle of winter. She rubbed her eyes, making her way down the huge staircase of the manor, and called out to Maxwell. "Maxwell! Are you awake yet? I'm ever so sorry for not making breakfast yet; I slept in and.." She got to the last step and looked around. "Are you awake yet? Oh, don't tell me you've slept in too.." She huffed and put her hands on her hips. "Bother.."

A loud smashing noise echoed through the corridors of the mansion, originating from Maxwell's room in the far east of the house. It was the sound of a clock being smashed in and thrown into a corner where an enormous pile of broken clocks were in the lycanthrope's bedroom. "..I'll wake up later..." Maxwell said in a low growl and followed it up with a yawn. Not too long after, his slumber was disturbed yet again by another noise. This time it was his Mistress's granddaughter, Charlet who seemed to be calling for him. He simply removed his pillow from beneath his head and pressed it against in his head in an attempt to drown out the girl's voice.

She jumped hearing the crash. He broke another one again. Charlet let out a small sigh and placed her hand on the handrail of the stairs, focusing her attention on the hallway. 'Grandmother wouldn't let him sleep in like this.. or break those expensive clocks, either..' She thought to herself, slowly making her way back up the stairs and over to Maxwell's door. "Um Maxwell, it's a little too late, why don't you.." She stopped mid-sentence. 'No, charlet. Be assertive. You are not going to get anywhere with the politeness. Show him who's boss.' She thought, still blankly staring at his door. She balled her small hands into fists and knocked on the door. "Maxwell, as the butler of the manor and the oldest individual of this household, I expect you to be up bright and early, no slacking. If you refuse to obey my orders I will have no choice but to come in there and drag you out myself." She smiled. She was confident this was going to work, her argument had valid points.

Maxwell groggily lifted his head from under the pillow, slightly pissed off at his persistent housemate. He stared at the door with a hazy glare before eventually replying in a raspy voice, "It's adorable when you try to be assertive, y'know that?" He smirked, then laid his head back onto his pillow, his head still facing the door. "But go ahead and try to get me out of my bed, Princess. I'll have you know that it's no easy task."
