Silas pointed a finger at Ran. "You think this shit is funny, wise guy?! Well I've got news for you: It isn't! You're literally the last person I'd want to sleep wi--" Silas suddenly felt massive throbbing pain in his head in mid-protest. He wobbled back against a desk and held his head. "Fucking..hangovers..dammit.." He muttered.

"That's not what you said last night," Ran said smugly. His expression softened at Silas's pain. "I left some meds and water on the table there for you, they should help. We drank wayyyy too much last night..." An expression of mild horror appeared on his face. "Oh fuck, my tab's gonna be enormous..."

Silas looked over at the cup of water and pills that were placed on the bedside table, then shifted his attention to Ran. "Uhm, thanks, I guess." He said awkwardly and picked up the pills. He threw them into his mouth and washed them down with the room temperature glass of water. "How're you gonna pay it off? You have a job don't you?" Silas asked with his arms folded. He was still pretty miffed because of last night's events.

"Jobs are for ugly and boring people," Ran said. "I usually just snitch a few bucks from the people I sleep with after they're passed out. Not a lot, just enough for me to get by on." His tone was disturbingly remorseless. "Hopefully Millie will cut me some slack on the beer money, though..."

Silas wordlessly stared at Ran with a furrowed brow for a good amount of time before finally saying "..I guess I'll get a job. I'd rather not have to rely on your..pick-pocketing skills to survive." He figured finding a job down here wouldn't be too horrible. From what Ran had showed him yesterday, Heck isn't much too different from the human realm. Sure, most of the inhabitants are a horrific sight to behold and would love to devour him on sight, but as long as he doesn't leave the city without Ran, he should be safe since apparently murdering humans is illegal. "Humans are allowed to be employed around here, right?" Ashe asked Ran.

"Yeah, of course. Didn't you see some of them yesterday when we were walking around?" Ran replied. "It's pretty common for humans to work at their demon's job once they're contracted; in between fighting other demons, of course. A tiny number of humans who got to the city without contracting have actually made permanent homes here, safe from ever being killed. They can live here as peacefully as any demon." He looked at Silas. "Are you serious about getting a job? Because then you'll just make me feel guilty about not having one."

"Yes, I'm dead serious." Silas crossed his arms and leaned against the desk. "And if I get a job, will you get off your ass and get one too? Or are jobs still for boring and ugly people?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Tch..." Ran muttered. "I GUESS if you can find a job that'll take both of us, I'll do it with you. Wouldn't be a good idea to let you wander around here without me." He sighed. "So what kind of jobs can you even do? Just gonna say, I'm not doing anything involving heavy manual labor."

"Well, I can restock items and work a cash register, so we could work at a supermarket if you're up for it." Silas paused and looked thoughtful for a moment. "I'm..pretty sure I can drive. Delivery boy would be good too. Ugh, but wait, I'd probably be driving alone so that'd mean I'd be away from you for the most part...Is there any jobs you can do?" He asked.

"Hmm..." Ran put his hand to his chin and thought for a moment. "Well, I could be a prostitute. But that's basically what I do already. Minus the part where the pay is consensual." He chuckled. "Uhh... I know stuff about clothes? And makeup. Not sure what kind of job that could get me." He sighed and flopped back down on the bed (they're still in bed remember). "I can do any low-skill job just as good as anyone else, so I don't really care as long as it's not too strenuous."

((gdi Ran))
Silas let out a sigh. "Alright then. We can check around some markets or gas stations to see if they're hiring. You said you're good with hair and makeup right..? I'd usually object to a working at a damn beauty parlor, but if it's our last option, I guess I'll tag along.." Silas said as he scratched the back of his head with an irritated expression.

"Hey, it's up to you, man. I'm fine with my current lifestyle," Ran said, stretching his arms and yawning. "If I were you I'd leave the job hunt until tomorrow though, last night was pretty hard on you and it may take a bit to recover. Man, I gotta ask Millie to enforce a three beer limit for us if we ever get the bright idea of doing that again..." He slid out of bed, wearing nothing but boxers, and continued to stretch like a cat.

"Sounds good. My head is fucking killing me.." Silas muttered and began to rub his temples with his fingers. It felt as if someone was wacking at his head with a sledgehammer relentlessly. He looked up at Ran. "So what's the plan for today? I'm sure you have something in mind. And if not, that means I can go back to sleep right?" After Silas said this, his face began to flush. He had just remembered what he and Ran had apparently done last night and he did not plan on sleeping in the same bed with him after that incident. "SPEAKING OF SLEEPING..the FIRST thing we're investing in is a new bed. I fuckin' refuse to go into another drunken stupor with you around."

"Aww, what's the matter, don't you trust me?" Ran snickered. "You seemed pretty comfortable in my bed all snuggled up to me like that." He walked into the small kitchen and got out a loaf of bread. "I dunno if you've noticed, boss, but I don't exactly have a lot of room here. This apartment literally has a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, and that's it. It's not really meant for more than one cheap-ass person, and I don't really feel like getting rid of half my furniture to fit another bed in there. Besides, beds are expensive." He scratched his head. "If you're set on it, though, maybe you could get a futon or something. Hey, you want anything to eat?" he asked, popping two pieces of bread in the toaster.

"Yeah, I guess a futon'd be good." A futon certainly didn't sound as comfortable as an actual bed, but Silas figured there'd be no way to coax the demon into letting him take the bed and Ran would instead sleep on the futon. As Ran mentioned eating, Silas's stomach immediately made a growling noise. "..I think that answers your question. What do you have?"
