Simon carefully pushed open the door to the science room, hoping that no one would notice and he could slip in before the teacher called roll. The sun had come out while he was walking to class and, not realizing that De Nuit was shielded so its rays wouldn't harm him, he had spent an extra five minutes picking his way through the shadows to reach his classroom. Now he was late to mad science on his very first day of classes. He peeked inside the room and saw the entire class staring back at him. "Shit..." he muttered.
The teacher, a severe looking woman with a shock of white hair, glared at him. "Mr. Hawthorne, I presume?" she said distastefully. Simon nodded weakly. "Not a good first impression. I trust you will never be late to my class again." The vampire flinched. She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "There's an open seat in the back. Get along then." Simon nodded again and started down the isle between the tables, painfully aware of all the eyes on him. He saw who the open seat was next to and stopped dead in his tracks.
"Oh fuck, not YOU."

Ashe had the most devilish grin on his face when Simon realized who his mad science partner was going to be for the evening. He had plans to make Simon's class a living hell. "And so we meet yet again, Mr.Edward Cullen! It's always so wonderful to see you." He beamed a charming smile at him and pulled out the chair beside him. "Come, come sit down, don't be a stranger." Ashe's smile shot down to a frown and his eyes shifted into a deathly glare. "We're partners after all."

Simon walked up and pulled out his chair without a word, "accidentally" dropping his bookbag on Ashe's foot as he sat down. He turned to look at the wizard, a forced smile on his face. "Oh, this should be fun..." he muttered.
The teacher, Ms. Franke, began teaching class. She spent a while explaining the procedure for mixing a simple sleeping draught, and then set the students to work inn pairs.
Simon got out a beaker as instructed and shoved it at Ashe. "Here, you wash this, I'll go get the ingredients," he said.

"Are you giving orders to me?" Ashe huffed while he cleaned the beaker in the sink. "..If you're going to ask something of me do it with a little more respect. A please and thank you are an order." Ashe then flicked his hair to the side and turned his nose away from Simon. "Especially when you're talking to someone like me." He said arrogantly.

Simon returned to the table with a petri dish of crushed nightshade and a cup of a strange murky looking liquid. "Someone like you? You mean a douchebag?" he sniggered. He set the ingredients down on the table. "So, we need to pour the liquid in the beaker and heat it for about five minutes... You know where the bunsen burner is?"

"Why didn't you make sure you knew where the damn thing was before you gave me a beaker?" Ashe crossed his arms and deeply sighed in annoyance. As he sighed, a few embers of fire escaped his mouth. "Hold the phone.." He snapped his fingers a couple of times and faint sparks appeared. He a few tries and he finally snapped good enough to wear a small fire ignited in his hand. "Looks like we don't need a bunson burner. You can thank me now." Ashe smirked.

"I dunno, that could be kind of dangerous. A bunson burner's meant to heat things very precisely, while your magic... Let's just say I'm not too keen to depend on that," Simon said. Nevertheless, he poured the liquid into the beaker and handed it to Ashe. "Just know that if you mess this up I'm going to laugh hysterically."

Ashe took the beaker and held it over the hand that was lighting the fire. "Hmph. I'm Ashe Mayflower. I don't mess anything up. I just simply.." He paused mid sentence and grinned at the brilliant idea that just came to him. "..improvise them." He moved the beaker directly in front of Simon and made the fire grow hotter to the point where it turned white. The beaker shattered, causing goo to fly sporadically all over their work space, but more so on Simon, and Ashe's fingers to get cut by the glass shards. "Ack-- shit!" Ashe sputtered as he snatched back his hands. "The goo was suppose to just over boil.. I must have added to much heat and caused the glass..to.." He stared at Simon who had been completely covered in black gunk and burst out into laughter. He practically had tears in his eyes from laughing so hard.

Simon stood completely still for a moment, shocked. He slowly raised his hands to his face and wiped the warm goo from his eyes, growling low in his throat. "You're going to wish you hadn't done th--" His eyes widened as he caught sight of the blood starting to drip from Ashe's fingers. He inhaled deeply and closed his eyes, running his tongue over the edges of his teeth. "You're reaaallly going to wish you hadn't done that..." The vampire's hand shot out and grabbed Ashe's wrist, then pulled it back towards himself. Ms. Franke looked up from her book to see what was going on, but as it didn't appear to be immediately life-threatening, she went right back to ignoring it. Simon grinned as he brought Ashe's fingers to his mouth, slowly moving to lick the blood off of them.

Ashe's face turned a bright red at the sight of Simon licking his fingers. "Wh-what the bloody hell do you think you're doing..!? Unhand me!" He attempted break free of Simon's grip on his arm, but his vampiric strength was too much for him to pull away from. "Let go, asshole! Ow!" Ashe yelled while karate chopping Simon in the head with his free hand, but hurting his wounded hand in the process.
((oh god sorry this one took so long. my dad asked me to throw some laundry in the washing machine and dryer l:u))

Simon took his sweet time cleaning the blood off of Ashe's fingers, lapping it up in long, languid licks. "Mmm... Wizards. How delicious." He no longer held the wizard's hand to his mouth, but he didn't release his grip on his wrist. "You know, I'm tempted to just bite you right now..." he whispered venomously, leaning threateningly towards Ashe. Instead, he suddenly let go of the bespectacled boy and turned away. "But we really do need to get this assignment done, it wouldn't do to have an F from day one."

"Hmph." Ashed huffed and turned away from him, his face still as bright red as ever. "Taking my blood without my permission..how crude." He pouted. "But for once I agree. Having a little fun got my beautiful hands like this." Ashe took a look at his hands and noticed that the cuts were minor, but still pretty visible. Healing magic wasn't his forte whereas magic having to do with destruction was. "I suppose I'll have to take a trip down to the infirmary after this class." Ashe groaned.

"Aw, what's the matter? The amazing 'greatest wizard of all time' can't heal a few little scratches?" Simon smirked. He picked up a towel and wiped the remaining goo off of his face and made an attempt to get it off of his clothes. "Urgh, this is going to stain... I liked this scarf!" he grumbled.
((totally not a hipster scarf nope))

((oh im sure its not. would simon like some thick framed glasses to go with that scarf btw))
"I AM the greatest wizard of all time! In training!" Ashe shouted. "I enrolled into this academy for a reason, thank you. I didn't come here to get stuck with someone as lowly as you for a partner in mad science class." He continued as he pulled out a hankerchief from his pants pocket. He tore it in half and started to tie it around his hands as a subtitute bandage.

Simon flicked some of the left over goo on Ashe's face. "Well could the greatest wizard of all time in training be bothered to go get some more green stuff to do the assignment with, seeing as he blew up the first batch?" he asked dryly. "I'll go ahead and crush the nightshade."
((nah son vampires got crazy good vision
wouldn't put it below him to steal ashe's just for the hell of it though))
